Parishioner's Hall This is the large meeting room in the Kleinpeter Activity Center which can be converted into three meeting rooms. These are:
St. Brigit of Ireland Room: St. Brigit is one of the three patrons of Ireland and a woman who created a new type of person in Ireland, a Christian woman. She lived in the 5th century and after her conversion founded a church on the Liffey plain called Cill Dara (Kildare) which means "Church of the Oaks". Appropriately, St. George Parish takes pride in the numerous old oak trees which are on our campus making us also a "Church of the Oaks".
Bishop Stanley J. Ott Room: The late Bishop Ott often visited St. George Parish. This room is named in memory of his good ministry in our diocese.
St. Margaret Room: St. Margaret lived in the 11th century. As the Queen of Scotland, she transformed both the religious and cultural life of Celtic Scotland. Margaret had a special care for the poor and the destitute.
St. Martha's Kitchen The Kleinpeter Activity Center kitchen is named for St. Martha, the generous and busy woman of John's Gospel who came to understand how hospitality takes on a variety of forms. The kitchen is equipped with a stove, large pantry, refrigerator and microwave.
St. Albert Conference Room Located in the Kleinpeter Activity Center, this room accommodates groups of 10 to 15 people. St. Albert lived in the 13th century and was a famous scholar. He was a teacher of St. Thomas Aquinas, and was later named a Doctor of the Church. Albert is the patron of scientists and philosophers.
St. Paul Room St. George has partnered with St. Paul's Parish in Eden Park. Our partnership expresses our desire to be a Church together and to help each other bring the Kingdom of reconciliation into clearer focus. St. Paul was an apostle of the Lord and evangelizer to the Gentiles. This meeting room which holds about 50 comfortably seated in chairs, is the first one on the southeast side of the Kleinpeter Activity Center.
St. Vincent de Paul Room St. Vincent de Paul was a 19th century saint who worked for justice among his beloved poor in France. He was a pastor of a local parish and founder of the Vincentians and the Sisters of Charity. The St. Vincent de Paul Society in St. George Parish has been an effective outreach to the poor. With charity as its prime mission, the Society has operated for over twenty years in the parish. This is the middle meeting room on the southeast side of the Kleinpeter Activity Center.
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Room This room is named in honor of the 19th century American who found sainthood in ordinary, everyday life. She was a wife, mother and foundress of the religious community of the American Sisters of Charity. Elizabeth was also an important figure in the founding of the American parochial school system. This room in the Kleinpeter Activity Center is the nearest to the front entrance.
Kleinpeter Activity Center
This building has 12,000 square feet and is used primarily for parish meetings and functions. It was completed in 1998 as part of the Building Our Future Capital Campaign. It is named after the Kleinpter family who gave the original 10 acres of land for the parish and who have been supportive of St. George for the past 103 years.
