Administration
This multi-functional commission assists the parish staff to effectively plan, organize, manage and maintain the business, property and personnel of the parish. In addition, this Commission develops and implements the parish stewardship programs in ministry, finance and prayer and, in a clear accurate manner, communicates information to all parishioners. It also plans for future needs and seeks ways to provide risk management.
 
Auction Committee
The committee, headed by co-chairpersons, plans and coordinates the School and Parish Auction.
Commitment: meets monthly for the first 3 months and bi-monthly for the last 2 months prior to the Auction

Bakers
This group is composed of men and women who like to bake and cook. They are called upon periodically to bake and cook for various parish functions like the Parish Mission, First Eucharist reception, Confirmation reception, Vacation Bible School, etc.

Bulletin and Office Mailings
Volunteers assist the parish office staff with labeling and mailing the weekly bulletin as well as numerous specialty mailings throughout the year.

Cemetery Committee
This committee assists in long-range planning for the perpetual care of the cemetery and mausoleum.

Fair Committee
The St. George Fair is held every fall. The Fair is co-sponsored by St. George Church and St. George School. Proceeds are split between the two. The Fair committee plans and coordinates the annual fair.

Finance Council
The Parish Finance Council is a consultative group made up of parishioners with expertise in finance and business.
Commitment: meets periodically to review parish finances, create a parish budget, and advise the pastor on fiscal matters

Grant Writing Committee
This organization meets periodically to discuss and pursue grant opportunities for the parish and school.

Hurricane/Disaster Assistance
This is a ministry in which parishioners would assist with the parish's housing of the Chateau de Notre Dame nursing home residents, staff and their families in the event of an evacuation from New Orleans. Parishioners are needed to help with setting up the facilities, loading and unloading, cooking, laundry, assisting with medical, personal and spiritual care of residents, and care for the children of Chateau de Notre Dame employees. These volunteers could also be called on to assist with any group or individuals in the event of a local disaster.

Men's Club
This is an organization open to all men of the parish to assist with the maintenance of St. George School and Parish. Workdays are designated throughout the year where volunteers handle such projects as painting and light carpentry. The men's club also hosts BBQ and fish fry dinner fundraisers.
Commitment: meetings are monthly from September to May, including five workdays

New Parishioner Welcoming
The Newcomers Welcoming Team extends invitations and hosts Sunday receptions held quarterly to greet newcomers, serve refreshments, and answer questions about St. George Parish. You can also become a mentor by greeting and contacting new parishioners.
Commitment: four times a year for receptions and monthly for mentors

The Oaks Newspaper
Volunteers assist with writing, photography, design and art work and mailing for the parish newspaper.

Physical Plant Committee
This committee helps to oversee the maintenance of all grounds and facilities of St. George. This committee sets maintenance priorities and creates solutions to maintenance problems.
