First Communion for Children
Celebration of the sacrament of First Eucharist is a two year process. This sacrament preparation begins in the First Grade with foundational faith formation and is continued in the Second Grade.
Formation for the sacrament of First Eucharist includes the following components:

Classroom sessions in the Catholic school or Parish School of Religion

Parent Meetings

Para-liturgical celebrations

Parent/child sessions in the home

A parent/child retreat prior to the celebration of the sacrament
Any child who has completed First Grade and has not begun preparation for the sacrament of First Eucharist will be invited to participate in the Children's Initiation process known as the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults Adapted for Children (RCIC).

Eucharist Preparation for Adults
Adults over 18 inquiring how to come in full Communion with the Catholic faith to receive Eucharist, are invited to participate in the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA).
RCIA meets on Monday evenings from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Commitment: weekly.
Catechists facilitate and share faith with the candidates/catechumens.
Sponsors are chosen from a sponsor pool to walk the journey of faith with the candidates and catechumens. Sponsors are always needed.
Scripture sharers meet with the candidates during Sunday Mass to facilitate reflection on the Scripture readings.
