In the context of the Christian view of fellowship, the Family & Community Life Commission's responsibility is to nurture, support and strengthen the family and build community by involving everyone as a life-giving member of St. George.
Babysitting Volunteers are needed to offer babysitting services to parents attending various seminars, sacramental preparation meetings, mission days, and liturgical experiences. Volunteers will be asked to commit to scheduled activities and will work under the direction of the babysitting coordinator. Adult and teen volunteers are needed for babysitting.

Confirmation Team
This group helps to prepare juniors and seniors to receive this sacrament by serving on the coordinating team, acting as a mentor/sponsor for a student, or as a catechist to teach.
Commitment: six classes during a four month period and catechist meetings during the year

Georgetown
6th- 8th Grades
This ministry is open to all junior high students in grades 6-8. The youth group provides activities for students once a month (1st Friday of the month). Activities include retreats, opportunities to meet other junior high-aged students both in the parish and the diocese, and guaranteed FUN!
Adults: Adult leaders are involved in yearlong faith sharing, planning and participation in activities.
Commitment: once a month
High School Teens
This ministry is open to all teens in grades 9-12. The youth ministry provides activities for teens at least twice a month year-round. Teens are offered opportunities for retreats, service projects, and fellowship. There are opportunities to participate in the Diocesan Youth Conference, Abbey Youth Festival and lots more.

Girl Scouts

Golden Oaks and 55 Club
These organizations provides activities for parish adults age 55 and older.
The Golden Oaks group meets the 2nd Monday of each month at 1 PM. The meetings feature speakers, games, dinners, and tours. Information will be featured in the St. George Weekly Bulletin and on the website.

The Golden Oaks now have a Courtesy Chairman Pat Weigel. If anyone knows of a Golden Oaks member or family member that is sick, having surgery or any other problems should call Pat Weigel with the information. The 55 Club meets the third Sunday of every month in the Kleinpeter Activity Center for pot luck dinners and bingo.
Transportation is provided for those unable to drive.

Parish Picnic
Persons are needed to help organize and host the annual parish picnic on the grounds of the parish each spring. This will include preparation, serving, games and cleanup.

Sunday Nursery
The St. George Sunday Nursery offers child care for small children ages one to two so their parents can attend 9:30 a.m. Mass without distraction. Children ages 3-5 are placed in the Pre-School of Religion. The Sunday Nursery is staffed by parents and adult and teen volunteers on a rotating basis.
