Men's ACTS Retreat

St. George Baton Rouge Men’s ACTS Mission Retreat - August 2nd – August 5th, 2018

John 6:29 Jesus answered them and said, "This is the work of God, that you believe in the one He sent."

Bishop E. Tracy Catholic Life Center/Baton Rouge, LA.

ACTS is an acronym for Adoration, Community, Theology and Service. The retreat’s goals are to strengthen our faith and its application in our daily life, to renew ourselves spiritually and to build strong lasting friendships. The ACTS weekend retreat is presented by lay Catholic men, with support provided by a Spiritual Director.

The retreat begins Thursday evening, August 2nd, 2018 with check-in at 6:15 P.M. at the Parish Hall at St. George Catholic Church. Transportation to and from the retreat center will be provided. We will return to St. George on Sunday, August 5th, 2018 for the 11:30 A.M. Mass with a reception following the Mass in the Parish Hall.

Space on the retreat is limited and the registration list is based on the order in which forms and deposits are received in the office. The full cost for the retreat is $200.00. The registration form with a $50.00 deposit made payable to St. George Catholic Church and must be received and recorded by the parish office to reserve your space on the retreat. The remaining balance will be due at the Thursday night check-in.

ACTS is a parish-based retreat and ministry. Registration opens when the team formation for the retreat begins, approximately 13 weeks prior to the retreat. Registration is open for the first four weeks to the hosting parish members only, so that the hosting parish may fully benefit from the fruits of the retreat. Those outside the parish will be put on a waiting list and will be contacted as space becomes available. After the initial waiting period, all registration forms will be taken as received, regardless of parish membership.

When the retreat is full, a waiting list is maintained until the day of the retreat to fill any vacancies, and then those remaining on the waiting list are returned their deposits and are asked to register again for the next retreat.

Please note: Financial difficulties should not prevent anyone from attending the retreat. If you have financial concerns, confidential assistance can be made by contacting your pastor, or any of the Directors.

You will be contacted about two weeks prior to the retreat describing the necessities you should bring on the retreat. If you need further information or have any questions, please contact one of the Directors listed.

Registration forms are available in the narthex at church or in the parish office.
