Confirmation

Confirmation Preparation Program

The Sacrament of Confirmation is a celebration of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, who is already very present in your lives.Confirmation provides the opportunity to affirm the faith you received at your Baptism.

Why should you consider registering for our Confirmation Preparation Program?
Because...

  • Confirmation brings you closer to God
  • It is an time for you to receive the Gifts of the Holy Spirit in abundance
  • You will strengthen your faith & help you draw nearer to God's unending love for you
  • You can learn more and talk about struggles you have with your faith

St. George's Confirmation Program is a 9 month program (September – May) which includes 8 Small Group Sessions, 3 sessions to be completed with sponsors, a day long Retreat, Rite of Enrollment Mass, and Rite of Confirmation Mass at completion of program.

Virtual Platform(s)

Our program this year is introducing a platform for communiation & discussion (mainly for candidates & catechists) called Discord. This platform will give us a way to continue discussions outside of small group sessions on campus, let you (candidates) ask questions or talk about difficulties with your faith, provide a means of virtual meetings via voice calls or video chat if we can't meet in person, and the best part is that it's free, secure, and easy to use.

Candidates are required to make an account on discord.com and can then follow the link in the sidebar to join our server. Once you join our server I'll ask you to verify your identity by sending me your name, email, and a parent's email address. This helps me keep our server secure and safe. You can read more about Discord by going to our Youth Group page, or contact Miss Catherine with any issues.

Parent Participation

During this year of preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation, parents are invited and encouraged to share and support their candidate as they journey on their path to the Celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation. If any parent is interested in volunteering in our program, please contact Miss Catherine! We'd love to have you participate.
