Stewardship begins with our personal need to return to God a truly grateful portion of our time, talent, and treasure.  In gratitude for the many blessings God has given to us, please prayerfully reflect on how you may respond to God's calling as a St. George Parishioner as you visit this area of the website.

Stewardship of Finance

" 'Give and gifts will be given to you; a good measure, packed together, shaken down, and overflowing, will be poured into your lap. For the measure with which you measure will in return be measured out to you' " (Luke 6:38). Because we model the gift of God's Son, we give willingly. By God's generous grace, we find ourselves blessed as well. Faithful stewards belive that giving ia a matter of wise planning. The ongoing needs of a parish budget invite every parishioner to offer a regular gift. Personal sacrifice, and the free and generous spirit of a willing heart, echo the biblical model. Ultimately, giving is a prayerful response to God's goodness and mercy.

Stewardship of Prayer

St. Paul reminds us in his Letter to the Ephesians, "At every opportunity pray in the Spirit, using prayers and petitions of every sort. Pray constantly and attentively for all." (Ephesians 6:18) An integral part of good stewardship is a commitment to be a person of prayer. With the busy lives that we all lead, sometimes daily prayer time seems to get lost. Through a personal commitment to prayer we are challenged to make prayer a priority over all the other activities that fill our lives. Daily prayer can lift us up, give our lives meaning and purpose, help us cope with life's ups and downs, and bring us joy and peace. Stewardship of Prayer infuses our parish with God's spirit and is the cornerstone for the other two aspects of total stewardship: ministry and finance.

Stewardship of Ministry

St. George offers many opportunities for parishioners to participate fully in the life of the parish.  Over 100 ministries are divided among the six commissions -- liturgy, spiritual life, administration, education, community/family life, and social responsibility.  Parishioners can share their gifts through ministering to fellow parishioners, the community, or the larger Church.
